How the fixed price works
The fixed price is legally regulated. It has to sit within a corridor between 10% below and 20% above the regular metered fare — so it's not an arbitrary number, but a binding quote based on the official tariff. The only conditions: you have to book the ride in advance, and the start and destination need to be fixed.
When a fixed price is worth it
- Trips to BER Airport — a long route with real traffic risk, a clear win for you. Details on our Flughafentransfer BER page.
- Important appointments — when you need to know upfront what lands on the expense report.
- Business trips — predictable costs for corporate accounts.
- Peak-time trips — Friday evenings, trade fair season, New Year's Eve.
Fixed price or meter — which is cheaper?
On a clear run, the meter is often marginally cheaper. Once traffic enters the picture, that flips: waiting time in a jam is billed on the meter, not on a fixed price. If you need certainty, the fixed price serves you better; if you're flexible and driving a short daytime hop, staying on the meter is fine.
